Muck up....Sheeshh...
I started a new blog.... http://noonapau.blogspot.com so I will not be updating this blog.
Please leave a message in the shoutbox in my new blog if you catch this message.
Musings of a chick
Wah... someone's off to my country!
Bon Voyage to a good chingu of mine who will be off to Busan on Sunday.
Enjoy your time there and soak in the atmosphere. Enjoy the food as well cos they are yummilicious especially the rice (bap). Do try a bit of the soju, at least you can say you have tried it before!
Kamsahamnida for trying to find my things for me. Much appreciated here. To remind you that I gave you 60,000 won.. just in case you forgot.
Remember to try the pick up lines that I gave you. Hehe..
Lucky yoja.
I promised to give her some helpful phrases to use over there and naughty me is planning to include some pick-up lines. Make sure that you use them well... HAHA....
I was thinking perhaps that we could meet up before the trip. So this week chingus?
I am appealing to my good chingu here to bring me a handsome namja. LOL..... Here are a few samples...

Feeling a bit chatty here.
It's about the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango.
We have had the Chinese version (Meteor Garden ~ MG 2 sucked!), the Japanese version and now the Korean version. (PS when is the Brunei version coming out?)
I have watched both Chinese and Japanese versions as well as the anime. To me, the anime wins hands down because it is true to the manga and had 56 episodes. (WAH)
I just read the synopsis for the Korean version and the PDs have decided to take some liberties with the script. They are changing Makino/ Shan Cai to a girl who is a swimmer in a school (Yikes!)
I don't think that they have really settled the script and Korean dramas are notorious for filming on the go. They would film the episode meant to be screened this week, the week before! I have heard about their tendency to change scripts as the situations arise.
I am putting the photos of the actors/actress playing the parts. What do you think of them?

Goo Hye Sun (Seon Woo/Makino) ~ hmm.. still not impressed. Makino is meant to be plain and a strong (physically) character. She looks a little too delicate.

Lee Min Ho (Gu Jun Pyo/ Tsukasa) ~ now he looks alright. Never seen him act before though! Still like Matsumoto Jun's Doumyoji at this moment.

(Sojiro is already mentioned) Kim Bum is a very versatile actor. He has been acting for a while and he last acted in East of Eden as the younger version of Song Seung Hun.
and Akira is played by a guy from a boyband so I am not sure about his acting either. Can't seem to find a picture of him.

Han Go Eun (Tsubaki, otherwise known as Tsukasa's sister.) She was the one who was always encouraging her brother. I still like the Japanese actress in the Japanese version! I watched her in Capital Scandal and thought she is a decent actress.
Han Chae Young as Shizuka (Rui's first love) ~ Perfect! I think looks wise she is the perfect match. I thought the Chinese one wasn't pretty enough and personally thought the Japanese one was hideous. Grief! She is meant to be a model!!
I wonder who will be playing the mother. I thought the Chinese and Japanese actress played the role well. I would hate to have mother - in - laws like them!
I will watch this version (starting in Dec) but if they change the storyline, I think I will lose interest. If you intend to remake Hana Yori Dango, please stay true to the manga. That was one thing I liked about the Chinese version. Even the Japanese version changed parts of the story and I didn't like the changes. And if they put the silly part about Domyoji losing his memory ( both storylines in MG2 and HYD 2) I will scream at the television!
FYI, the Korean version will have 24 episodes.
It was another uneventful day. No teaching cos of school celebrations. Tons of food and drinks and the best bajus ever!
I saw so many of my kids with really fancy bajus and wow.. even the tudungs were elaborate!
Went back to the staffroom to do some work but ending up chatting with colleagues. We have to come up with our assessment units for SPN before it is taken out of our hands.
Other than that nothing much is happening here... oh by the way, if you haven't heard the news by now, the world economic situation is on a downward spiral so people, START COUNTING YOUR PENNIES!
I would like to end with my picture of the day...it keeps me smiling!
PS... Another picture of a youngun.... believe it or not he is just 19!
He is the guy who will play Soujiro or Ken Zhu's character in Meteor Garden (in the manga, he is the heir to a traditional tea family - the playboy!)
Last night, da chingus went for dinner at sushi place.
Got a little hyper and since ButterflyAngel was too busy to entertain me, I entertained myself. Got many candid shots of people but BA didn't put up the one of her sticking her tongue out!! Where is it BA??? I will be persistently asking you for it. Bwahahaha....
As usual, MsRacer came in later. By that time the table was full so we were wondering where she could put her order. LOL
Nicked the pictures from MsBA's blog. Thanks!
Can you see how happy these ladies are!!??
After dinner, MsRacer, MsK and I went to CoffeeBean for a relaxing cup of chamomile, Vanilla Latte and a cappuccino. We chatted a bit about MsRacer's upcoming half-marathon at KK tomorrow (on Saturday) and wishing her the speed of Hermes! (Note: not the bag but the Messenger of the Gods: refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermes)
We also chatted about our future plans, especially next year. So many places to see, so many things to do!! Haha... here's wishing us all the best !
I just don't like Sarah Palin. I much prefer Hillary.
I think it's the way Palin speaks. Whiny -ish...
A great SNL spoof. She looks and speaks exactly like Palin!
[Need the hunks to keep me motivated!]
So who do you think looks better after coming out from the army?
What a day!
It's the first day back to work for most people and for people in the same profession as me, it was a day where we get to meet our lovely students....again.
I had the first 6 periods and it was mainly about the test corrections. By the time, break came around, my voice was hoarse and I thought I might lose it.
Not surprisingly, a lot of students were absent and those who did turn up were yawning away and pleaded for a break. What break!? was my response (Please imagine a sarcastic tone)
The power at work was on/off cos they were still doing up the school. So my kids were moaning about the heat!
Most of my colleagues were talking about their holidays except for one expat colleague who was sick and still is at the moment. She said she spent a night at RIPAS with a drip. Ouch!
The rest of the day passed by uneventfully and in the afternoon, I popped by HH Manggis. No crowds at all. Lovely!
So tonight, it is full steam ahead to prepare for tomorrow. Got told that there would be a meeting this Saturday to discuss next year's plans. I have to prepare the SPN-21 outline for Year 7 at the least as well as revamp the SOW. Arghh!!
Recently my parents and brother went back to KK for my grandma's 80th birthday. I saw this picture and could not resisit posting it.
So how many LVs can you spot?
On Friday, I realised the folly of having two appointments at almost the same time.
I had agreed to met ButterflyAngel and MsK for lunch and it hit me later on that I would have to rush through my brunch appointment with my school friends.
In the end, I stayed longer with my school friends. We went to Country Patch, a new cafe in Kiulap. It is really a ladies place, endless streams of female customers came in. The food was not bad (I had the Ham and Cheese croissant) and a nice Orange Iced Tea. The only bad thing I can think of this place is that it closes at 730pm. Too early for the vampires. Haha...
After brunch, I went to the Mall to meet up with ButterflyAngel and MsK. Wah.. it was a breeze finding parking and no stress at all!
Went to the Mall and bought a top, MsK bought a Korean drama and ButterflyAngel bought heaps of stuff from Faceshop. She even got a poster of Kwon Sang Woo... haha...
After that, we had promised to meet MsRacer at Coffee Bean. We haven't been there in a really long time!
We settled in and MsRacer showed us her photos of her Gundam models in her laptop. She had already done 20 of them and even knows the good and bad guys. Wah!
Next, she taught ButterflyAngel a bit about creating a webpage. MsRacer got mishievious and decided to check out Chocoballs webpage.
As usual we talked about work related stuff. We chatted on til about 5ish and it was time to head home. On a side note, we are meeting up again at Kaizen on Thursday cos we haven't been there in a while. It is MsRacer's turn to book and I hope she remembers!
It was so sad watching this. Another Korean actress has killed herself over the ugly netizens. Choi Jin Shil was last seen in the drama 'The Last Scandal' Just type her name and you will see tons of news about her.
Popular Actress Choi Jin-sil Found Dead
The apparent suicide of a top actress shocked the country on Thursday morning. Choi Jin-sil was found hanged in the bathroom of her home. But questions are growing since she had only the previous day been filming a commercial and was recently preparing to appear in a drama.
Suh Sang-wook, the president of her agency SBM, said Choi was very vulnerable when defamatory messages about her and her children appeared on the Internet and had lately been under extreme stress over a rumor that she may have lent money to actor Ahn Jae-hwan, who also recently committed suicide. Ahn is believed to have killed himself due to business failure and consequent financial difficulties.

Choi Jin-shil’s death spurs talk of cyber slander laws
October 3rd, 2008 // by javabeans
If there’s something to take away from the overwhelming attention and the number of entertainers who came to pay their final respects to deceased Choi Jin-shil, it’s that she was much-respected and much-loved by many colleagues over the entire length of her 20-year career.
People are also taking her death as a sign of needing to strengthen cyber slander laws, citing examples in the past where Internet slanderers were prosecuted and fined for defamatory postings.
An article in the Joongang Daily (English language) states:
[D]efamation by spreading false rumors is subject to up to seven years in prison but most get away with fines.
According to the Supreme Court of Korea, only 2 percent of slanderers are actually prosecuted. However, the number of online slander cases has been on the rise, from 316 in 2005, to 350 in 2006, 403 in 2007 and 213 in the first half of this year….
However, opposition parties including the Democratic Party said this is an attempt to regulate cyberspace to eliminate anti-government postings. The DP said the ruling party is trying to “use the suicide incident politically.”
The Korea Times (also English language) also talks about policymakers looking to enforce stricter identification requirements on highly trafficked websites in order to participate in forums and discussion.
This means that users will have to type in their resident registration numbers ― a 13-digit code that indicates birth date, sex and registration site ― or I-PIN numbers, a personal identification code for online use, to leave messages. …
The operators of the Web sites will be required to disclose the identities of bloggers accused of cyber attacks on request of police or victims seeking legal action, government officials said.
On the flip side, this has sparked concerns of censorship and government stifling of free speech. It has vague Patriot Act-like overtones and I’m not sure I would trust the government to “monitor” cyber slander without abusing that power, although I do think Korea’s got a particularly pernicious (sub)culture of Internet nastiness that deserves a smackdown.
On this page there are lots of celebrities who paid their results. I got to warn you that the video above is heart-wrenching.
A funny story to tell...
I went to bed early the night before and did not notice any messages. The next morning, I saw the message about the open house from MsLexus and MsK. It said "Your're invited to an open house 2mrow at ....grandparent's house at 1pm" Now reading it on the first day of raya, I assumed she meant the second day (Friday). So I was happily lounging on my bed when I got a call from ButterflyAngel "Pau, where are you and why aren't you here" [we decided to carpool] Argghhh! I leapt off my bed and asked for fifteen minutes to get to her house.
Without further ado, I went to ButterflyAngel's house and met MsRacer there. We went there together and started on the food. Yummy man.. even without the oreo batik. It was replaced with delicious choc chip cookies. We stayed for around 2 hours and chatted. So many people came and went but we were plastered to the chairs! LOL!!
We left around 330 and made our way home....
Okay.. this post is about the day I arrived back in Brunei.
MsK and I decided to do last minute shopping so we split up and went around the shops once more. Our flight was at 240pm and we planned to leave the hotel at 1130am.
I managed to get two tops from MNG (yikes) and a book titled "Korean for Dummies" Haha..
We met up in the room at 11am, did last minute packing and checking and off we went to the lobby. It was quick and painless. Got a cab from the hotel and we arrived at the airport around 1215pm. So it took 45 minutes (approx)
Checked in and went into the departure hall. I honestly have to say that KLIA has a long way to go to beat Changi airport. I think it is such a huge waste of space. It seems bigger than Changi but emptier.
We walked around for a bit and *gasp* Burger King was closed for renovations! No other fast food in sight! We went to Delifrance and frankly the food sucked.
After the food, we went to Godiva and splurged on choccies! After I did the conversion, I couldn't believe how much I paid for chocolates!
We left on time and arrived in Brunei ahead of schedule. On the flight there were about 50 people. So we got off the plane quick, went through immigration at an unbelievable time and luggage. We went out of the airport in 10minutes!
My poor mom picked me up (hours after arriving from NZ) I was in no mood to eat but got hungry later so I decided to try the Korean spaghetti noodles which I bought in KL. Omo, I love it! Now to get a box from KL....hehe..
Went to bed as usual and did nothing much the next day....
