Dome Doom

By now the news should have spread. Ladies and Gents, our hang out place is CLOSED!

It was a shock to me to have planned for a meal and drink there, only to find out that is has shut. Aigoo... I think that it is the first ever Dome to have closed due to lack of business (?)

It was a wonderful place for us to hangout. Quiet and not smoky, the waiters and waitresses were great, plus they had wireless which was usually monopolised by us.

So where to now? We are juggling a few options, either it's back to Bean or we move to Kiulap. It is not easy to find a non-smoking cafe.

I hope we find an alternative soon before I start craving for a caffeine buzz.

Scam Alert! Scumbags!

Well, apparently Leng is stranded in Nigeria now and needs $2000 to come home.

WTF! I think these scammers must have encountered tons of idiots before and they keep on trying cos of a few victims.

They don't realise that we would actually CHECK if said person was away or not. And from the *Nigerian* connection it would take a 'baka' 'pabo' to fall for this.

One thing that makes me worried though would be that Leng;s email has been compromised. If I received it I am sure all on her address book has received it as well. Now Leng has to confirm that she actually is in Brunei cos I haven;t heard from her for a few days.

Incidentally, there is a website (from my photog unc Jan) about the current *China Investment* scam. Click on the link to find a detail description of the steps these desperados go through.

Eh Eh.. Where is everyone?

It has been a pretty strange couple of days.

I have been busy with the ACER project (not the computer ah) and at nights it was a flurry of farewell dinners for a friend returning to Malaysia. So I don't know if anyone has been online at nights.

Met Mrs Danny for lunch on Tuesday at the duck place. Incidentally , for anyone looking for Chinese guys, a lot of them have lunch there. After lunch, it was back to the project. That night was Senja night and it was a great ladies night though there was a guy smoking at the table behind me. I glared at him and then the smoke disappeared

On Wednesday, it was another whole day at ACER. Still training at that time. Had lunch with Angel and Ms Racer at sushi then back to ACER. Phew! I had to ask Ms Racer to buy Yong Tau Foo for me and she nicely obliged. THANKS YA! That night, it was a steamboat for my friend whose flight was changed from Wed to Thurs. My songsaengnim, J , my friend and I decided to have a steamboat. It was nice weather to have one, rainy and cool.

I rushed home , cooked the soup and prepared the ingredients and I only managed to shower at 630pm. They came, ate and we chatted about a few things. This took us up to quite late and then came the goodbyes. SIGH... I hate goodbyes. We also say we will see each other again but the truth is that we probably wouldn't until after a few years.

On Thursday , more ACER stuff and by now I was feeling pretty wrecked. Told Ms K that I was too tired to go out that night. Pretty much stayed home and slept early.

So ladies, this is an update of what I have been doing. From what I gather, a lot of people are MIA.

BTW, I have my annual dinner tonight so I won't be online then. Just keep me posted on what's happening ok?

Wah.. more work to do

Today was a heck of a day.

First, there was a meeting from 830 to 1230 ish. Had to leave early because I had another meeting to attend in the afternoon.

The school meeting was really long and I could see the HODs looking at me and wondering what the heck I was doing there. Me and my big mouth, I thought co-ordinators had to go and of course I was 'welcomed' at the meeting. The 4 longest hours of my life! I found it informative as it outlined what transpired in the previous meeting and then the agenda was about the next year.

Lots of stuff to say and I admit my head was spinning with all the information presented. I know I will be asked by the rest of the staff about the meeting but I think some things should be said by the HOD so my mouth is zipped!!

This afternoon, the meeting at IPA I was thankful to see Mrs Danny there. Too bad we are in different groups. This ACER (not the computer) project will take up loads of our life next year so not really looking forward to 2008. We were told to keep ourselves free from May to July so I must go on vacation in March seeing as now June I have to stay put.

What do we do during this time? Marking... whoopee.. I am in the unfortunate group of marking writing skills papers , i.e. compositions. SOB SOB! Mrs Danny was placed in the literacy group, i.e. reading comprehension.

So from Tuesday to Thursday next week, it will be training us to mark at MOE, from 830 to 500. I already feel so tired. SIGH. I have to ask my brother to look after himself then cos I don't think I have time to cook at all.

I have to think positive, increase my experience and most importantly making sure I don't nap in the afternoon. But I think my battery will be flat quite quickly so sometimes I may not be able to chat with the ladies.

I am looking forward to tomorrow night. It's great to meet up with friends and feel like you are part of the world. What shall I have tomorrow? Actually I am thinking of Jollibee.. hehe..

Day 1

My parents are off to Taiwan!!

I hope that they have fun over there and considering it's a 2 week trip, I think they will be glad to be home then.

Update? Last night I went to the closing of the Korean Cultural Exhibition in UBD. I am glad to see that songsaengnim has a lot of helpers and they are quite an enthusiastic bunch.

Met Snow and his gang there too but they hardly talk. Anyhow, the 'highlight' was the food "YUMMY" from the Korean restaurant. I could see that all the guests were enjoying the food.

The next scheduled item was the karaoke competition. 6 brave souls went up to sing Korean songs. Starting with 'Arirang'. then the song from Samsoon's OST and finally three guys sang 'I am a fool' by Stay from the Goong OST. Man, after the third rendition of the song, I felt like as if I could sing the song myself.

Songsaengnim gamely went up to sing a song (no idea of the name) and the Club members managed to persuade the judges of the singing competition to sing (including the Ambassador to Korea!) Now that's what we mean by sporting.

So today I had to wake up freaking early. My wonderful mom cooked something for me to eat and I was off! The day went surprisingly fast, maybe because there were three 'makans' and I had to move my stuff from the 2nd floor staffroom to the 1st. I now realise why we need men (LOL)

After work, it was shopping, shopping, shopping. Bought groceries to use for the next few days and now I am thinking of the menu. To top it off, my bro's not feeling well so have to 'jaga' him.

Himdul royo!!

Sigh... now for tomorrow. I tell myself .. 아자 아자 HWAITING!

Korea Ka ja!

Well, I think my mind is set. I really really wanna go Korea this Dec. No matter what! Only a blizzard will stop me from going there. Wait, maybe I will pack more winter clothing but darn it, I still wanna go!

Before this I was hem-hawing about whether or not to cancel this trip. Unexpectedly a lot of things happened and I don't think it is fun if there is only three of us. Now, I am saying what the heck! Must go la!

Sigh... I really need this holiday. Was tempted to change destination to Singapore but I am going there in March. Sigh Sigh..... Now waiting on my chingus decision.

Back to me

It has been a hellish couple of days.

As my close friends and family know, I have been sick as a dog. ( Now where did this metaphor come from) It all began on Thursday night where I felt uncomfortable.

On Friday, it all went downhill. I got fever and chills, hoping my best to ride the storm out but by Saturday I knew I had to see a doctor. At least for the MC.

So for two days I was lying flat out on the bed with little to no energy. It was a great dieting experience, NOT! Experiencing pipe blockage and chugging down prune juice was not an experience that I would wish on anyone, even my enemies.

So I went back to the grind of work, daydreaming about my upcoming holiday which seems to be up in the air at the moment. Sigh... lost motivation now.

I am going to be marking my haksaengs Paper 2 soon and I am sure a few more white hairs will pop up after that. So it's back to torture I go!
