It's back to work today and I have to say that it was tiring... First 4 periods, then last two. BArely put my butt in the chair and off I go again.
It was quite a depressing day for my kids I expect. They had optimistically asked me, pass teacher? and I had to break the news to them. I cannot fathom how they can expect to pass with minimal effort. I feel sad for them but the implications of hard work has not been drilled into them and there is no such thing as a 'free lunch'.
Well, my voice is about gone after going through the corrections three times in class. Some were interested but others didn't seem bothered. They were only interested in the end result and not caring about probable mistakes I did in the marking.
Enough about WORK!
My vacation!
I went to S'pore with my travel buddy, Leng. It was a mad rush and we didn't do much the first day but we went to Borders (YAY!) and Kinokuniya (YAY YAY!) where I stocked up on my books.
Then it was off to the scarily expensive shops. I was awed by LV and pleasantly surprised by the friendly service. Then it was Cartier , a belt for a friend's dad and Gucci where we were ignored. Not even a 'Can I help you?'
At night we met up with a few Singaporean friends, hers and mine. Larissa, a great mate of mine from Oz and her friend Jackie who was also from Oz. Leng 's friend shall remain nameless (ahem) but we'll call him T.
We had a ball of a time at NYDC on the first night, drinking our coffees and having a kind of tiramisu (ice cream!) The second night we went for coffee at another coffee place (TCC) where the coffee's quite good and they had Ti rum misu.... rum rum rum.....
Didn't make it to Starbucks cos it was really crowded and no tiramisu in sight.
On an interesting note, I was tempted to buy a pendant when we shopped for a friend's wedding gift. Circles, Circles everywhere! Leng got a few (!) stuff and they came with certificates (!)
Hmm... what else is there left to say?
Random pic!!

At the *onsen hotel before heading towards Mt Fuji. It is such an impressive sight that I won't mind seeing it again.
