So long....time...

Now, what did I do these past few days?

Yesterday, I watched Happy Feet. A good show with an obvious conservation theme running through it. I have to say that Mumble's mom's voice irritated me and it was voiced by Brittany Murphy!! I really didn't like the Marilyn Monroe vibe she was trying to throw out.

What else? Well I am back to watching tons of K-dramas. Even watching the weepy ones. Will update in the drama section.

I must be feeling my age. I slept at 7 pm on Saturday and didn't wake until 8 the next day. Amazing! It could be the lack of sleep I have been experiencing and also the fact my tummy was not too good.

Newsworthy:

Wow.. It seems Choi Si Won is set to be the new generation K star. Will look for a picture of him to post.
tada!

Drama:
Watching '90 Days'. A love story between two cousins (which by the way is forbidden in Korea). But what to do when you fell in love before you knew? It stars Kim Ha Neul (my fav) and Kang Ji Hwan. I swear that I will have swollen eyes for the duration of this show.

Music:
Moving to soundtrack music now. Listening to the Lovers OST and 90 days OST.

Random pic:
Brian and Chae Yeon... Ultra cute couple. I miss Chae yeon with her bright smile....

Koo Koo....

Finally have the energy to update.

Watched Casino Royale on Saturday. Loved the verbal sparring between Bond and Vesper. I admit Daniel Craig is not a pretty boy but there is a very masculine vibe about him.

Nothing much is happening at work at the moment. Luckily our activities are over so there is nothing much to do. The others are frantically clearing the papers that they have. As for me, I am a world renowned procrastinator. It will be done at the very last minute.

Tonight's the big nite at Empire. I hope I win something (IPOD) lol... It's nutty cos it's going to end late and how on earth do morning shift function the next day?

Newsworthy:
Wow... In Korea, taking your college entrance exams are a big deal. The govt sets the working time an hour later. No planes can fly overhead especially during the listening exams.

I think that mobile phones in exams should equal a total disqualification as well. Even if you are not using the mobile at the time.

Maybe Brunei should take some tips on sex education from here.

Dramas:
Still the 'Lovers' vibe. Can't wait for tomorrow now. Just calculated that with 20 episodes, the last episode is in early Jan... a long way away!

Music:
Congrats to MC Mong for clearing the Rain and Seven. He deserves it. Ice Cream is a really catchy song! He won the Mutizen award.YAY!

Whoa! Brian's looking a wee bit 'Lee Jun Ki' ish.

Ultra cool guys...Hyun Joong and Brian...

Random pic:
Decided that this will be my random pic.. just love the show...

Bit off more than I can chew

Today was the day of the big party. I can't believe how unmannered my kids are. They seem to be starving as they attacked the food with so much gusto. It reminded me of a swarm of ants which discovered sugar! I do feel sorry for some of them though. Looking at the kids, I think a few of them probably do not get 3 meals a day and survive on crackers.

Tomorrow is the hunt day as well. Wah... it's tiring. I do hope they have fin tomorrow though. I think that the questions are easy but go figure. Most of the kids will have problems but the smarter ones will pull through. Why do people here like to do things at the eleventh hour? So many kids wanted to join today. It's tough luck but they have to learn that the early bird gets the worm.

Raining cats and dogs now. I swear I can hear the woofs and meows of the four legged creatures.

Newsworthy:

Wow.. A tsunami to hit Japan later today. Scary! At least the warning system for tsunamis are more efficient in Japan. WE should learn from them.

Drama:

Song Seung Hun and Jang Hyuk are out of the military. They were found to have tried to evade military service and were looked upon as traitors. I think some of the Koreans (especially men) have not forgiven them for their gaffe. It's great if they have learnt from their mistakes and we will welcome them back with open arms.

Incidentally, I watched 'Successful Story of a Bright Girl' again. Still love the story but I still hate the ending.

YAY! By tomorrow morning, I will be able to download 'Lovers' ep 3.

Music:

DBSK - Balloons ~ darn it. It's so catchy that I find myself tapping along to the song. If you have watched the mv, they are so adorable in it. The kiddies in the mv are really cute as well.

Random Pic:

Lee Seung Gi ~ still can't get over the fact I saw him in real life.

Almost there

What did I get myself into. THe whole day I was thinking about what to bring for the class party. Eureka!! baked pasta. Easy and edible.

Newsworthy:
Nothing

Drama:
The Goong and Goong 2 cast ~ I think Goong 2 will be successful. More or less because of Se7en.

Music :

Junjin is out with a single. Haven't heard the songs yet though.

DBSK is really smart. They have just repackaged their 3rd Album. Wah... the fan girls will surely buy it even though they have the original version. I can't believe how much money they will make from this.

So tired!

Yawn... it was a late night and I am still feeling the effects. There were a lot of people at the Mall last night, especially teenagers. There were many groups of guys as well, having dinner together and watching movies together. Was it 'male bonding' night? LOL.

Death Note was a pretty decent movie. 'Light', the main character started off in the beginning as the pursuer of justice 'Kira' as he felt helpless at the fact that criminals were not being appropriately punished. But he became more diabolical and started to think of himself as a god and 'punished' those who got in his way. I much prefer 'L', the one who had to find out who 'Kira' was. L was a sweet toothed geek (?) very goth looking (from staring at computers, most probably). L showed that his brain was well matched with Kira's. I got to admit that Kira planned the deaths well. Very creative at times. I came home to find out more information about the movie and found out that there was Death Note 2. Read the review and got upset. In DN2, L died! SOB

Drama
Still raving about Lovers. This is the man I want you all to meet. It's one of the few times that I like a guy older than me. haha...
Lee Seo Jin - 33 years old
I thought he looked like Lee Dong Wook (My Girl)
Lee Dong Wook

Kang Ho Dong is getting married today. Congrats to him. He's the MC for ' Love Letter' and co-host of 'X-Man' and Yashimaman. He looks so happy. :P

Last but not least, instead of a random pic, I give you the Dong Bang Shin Gi boys in their cutie mode.

It's Saturday!

Thought I would start my blog early. Gonna be watching 'Death Note' tonight and will give a review tomorrow. Mini summary ~ Based on a popular Japanese manga written by Takeshi Obata, Death Note tells the story of the god of death, bored with life, making available his Death Note(book) to the human world. Picked up by aspiring lawyer Light (Tatsuya Fujiwara), he soon finds that the rules written in both English (yes) and Kanji on the inside front cover, actually work - whosoever has his name written inside the book, will meet death via a heart attack.
Wow! Imagine the power over life and death...

Suddenly, I realised that I haven't been to Chill's in a while. Where are my people?!!

News
LOL! Get a load of this article. For guys who want to know how to tackle different types of girls. Now ladies, will these steps work with you?
How to Win a Girl: Sorting Myth From Reality

Drama
Watched the second episode of 'Lovers' and I am loving it!! It's great. At least it is funny. I am sure that there will be a few teary scenes but what the heck, I am enjoying the ride now.

Music
SS501 is back. My fave is Hyun Joong, the one in the middle. Sigh.. they are not as popular as DBSK but they have their attraction.

Happy Belated Birthday to Se7en. He turned 22 (!) on the 9th.

Random pic:
No mystery to where we are at. The place to go to satisfy the sushi craving.. haha...

Hot Hot Hot!

Today is a scorcher. Went out in the morning to have breakfast with grandma and phew! it's so hot that I could feel my skin sizzle like a steak on the grill. Spent money again. I swear, even though Brunei is supposedly not a shopping haven, I could spend $100 easily at one go. Most of the money was on food though.. hehe...

Korean stuff:
1. Rain is being a good guy. He took pictures with children without families to highlight the issue.
http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200611/200611100006.html

Drama
What's Up Fox has finally ended and with a good ending. Still downloading it at the moment but should get it by 5pm today. YAY!

Gonna watch Lovers as well. It's got the girl from Lovers in Paris - "kim Jung Eun' and Lee Seo Jin (dreamy guy - mature looking, defintely not a baby faced actor). Looks funny and it's only the first episode so it's a good sign that this show is watchable.

Music
1. KKhaman Ankyung (Black glasses) - great mv with a touching story and the songs great as well..
2. Lalalala - Seven - heard me rave about it and I just watched the MV. No wonder it was not suitable for younger kids. If any of you want to see Seven doing some serious mouthwork, watch the mv.

Random pic:

Seven - for those of you who don't know who he is. He is gonna be more popular soon cos he's gonna be in 'Goong 2' - on the air next year.

My rant: Arghhh... Brunei internet connection sucks.. I still can't access Soompi and it's not their fault. It's something to do with DNS here... poo poo...

4 weeks to go!

4 weeks to go and I am off for my holiday! A friend's wedding , no less. Wonder how I would feel attending a close friend's wedding. Sad? Excited? Depressed? Lonely?
Time is really going by quickly. Before I know it, I will be old. It is part dread and part happiness at going there. The dread is the obvious questions from old friends who would ask about your marital status and they would ask while they are carrying their kids or together with their significant other (married or not). The happiness is seeing your friend finally getting hitched. There goes all the jokes about the ring around the nose, being hen-pecked etc.

Nothing monumental happened today at work. Same old stuff. Was too lazy to clear the rest of the paper so I just sat back and relaxed.

Korean stuff:
Can't believe Rain's tickets are so expensive. Top tix = $888/- at Singapore. Phew!

Watched the new X-Man and it sucks! I hope I can grow to love it but no Lee Seung GI this week.

Random image of the day:

It's Lee Jun Ki from 'My Girl' . He promotes a pomegranate drink which is yummylicious. Had quite a few bottles of those in Seoul. If you watched 'My Girl' you will love him. 'The King's Clown' is also very good. It's been nominated by Seoul to be in the running for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars.

Song of the Day: LALALA by Seven ~ yup, still hooked on this song. WIll put it in the disc for Frank next round. Will get to hear it on radio probably in December. LOL!

Sigh ~

Geez, there is no rest for the wicked. Tiling in progress at my place and there's cement dust everywhere! For the last two - three days, there's just hacking all over the place. The sound of jackhammers in the morning is NOT a good thing to wake up to.Major renovating here.

On the work front, I just can't believe the amount of junk I have accumulated over three years. Had to chuck out many pieces of paper. I felt like I could have grown a forest of trees with the amount of paper I chucked and there are still more trees in there! Gonna go to work in three hours time.

On the Korean front, nice to see SG Wannabe is doing well in Japan. Definitely one of the best groups out there.

Now only if they would come to Brunei...

Other than that, I can recommend two shows - Outrageous woman and What's Up, Fox?
Most likely, these two shows will be on our TVs sometime next year. Been watching it from the internet. Will give a review of these two shows and some songs later tonight. :P

The First Day ~ WOW...

Aish, decided to start a blog... maybe I am bored? following the trend? who knows.. First up, I will mostly be blogging about my day and my love for Korean stuff ~ food, dramas, music.

Today? Another ordinary day, full of work. Am supposed to watch ~Goong~ but been putting it off. Too scared to start cos I know I will end up watching it continuously and ending up with puffy eyes and no energy for work the next day. Mian hae , Julie.. gotta hang on to the discs a little longer

*SOB* What has happened to Soompi?? Can't access it..probably due to freaking e-speed. Any Soompiers with the same problem out there?

Random pic: At Show Tank , Dongdaemun with Jo

Must listen: LALALA by Se7en ~ ultra cool song.
